2013 Volkswagen CC – A Stylish Sedan
There is no doubt that launch of American-built 2012 Passat was the biggest story from the German automaker. And now when the sun is about to set on 2011, Volkswagen is announcing some updates for the Passat’s willowy sibling, the 2013 CC, which will make its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.
For the 2013 model year the CC gets a revived front and rear fascia very similar to that of the larger Passat Sedan. It features up front, bi-xenon headlamps with LED running lamps as standard equipment. The rear lamps have been redesigned to look more like the new units found on the Jetta and Passat. The 2013 CC espouses the same fashion cues as that of the Jetta and Passat sedans, but it manages to pull off its own look amongst Volkswagen’s restyled sedans.
The distinguishing features of the CC include the rounded edges of the headlights as they wrap up the sheet metal above the front wheels, LED daytime running lights and HID headlights. A shinier grille that’s directly connected to the headlights and a revised lower front fascia also modernize the CC. Not much information regarding the engine or interior upgrades have been released.
The one interior photo that VW released looks almost identical to the current model with some minor out some packaging or color combination changes. Under the hood, expect both the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder and 3.6-liter V6 with 4Motion all-wheel drive to carry over unchanged.
As the Volkswagen CC’s entry-level model creeps closer to the $30,000 mark, the German automaker is making sure the stylish sedan has refined looks to match the premium price.
