96 caddy gone old school

Hey guys! Volkswagen Caddy debuted in 1996 till date has managed to make a mark in the market. This morning I came across some of the pics of 96 Caddy and couldn’t move further before writing some interesting facts and features about it. Caddy basically was a soft designed van manufactured in Spain by Volkswagen Spanish auxiliary SEAT.

The Caddy has used the polo platform and so has car-like ride etiquettes on the roads. Passionate car drivers won’t be disappointed with its capabilities. Caddy features the 1.4i 16v petrol unit delivering a energetic 75bhp at 5,000rpm and 93lb-ft of torque, while the 1.9SDI had 64bhp at 4,200rpm and 92lb-ft of torque at 2,400rpm and the 1.9TDI had 90bhp at 4,000rpm and 149lb-ft of torque at 1,900rpm. Hummm!! the numbers seem quite appealing don’t they?? Other features include 2.0 8v motor, stylish Velo door panels covered in suede, Velo seats, piano black carpet and Full rockford sound system.

Caddy was always considered as a mediocre van in the UK, which is a pity on their part as it offered Volkswagen’s renowned build quality. But now after seeing at its amazing features and output I am sure you guys will agree that 96 Caddy makes a great auto van in its category.

Thanks to our reader Aslam for sharing the pics!
