Volkswagen is determined to put their plan of producing over a million electrified vehicles by 2025. The brand is set to take their all-electric microbus concept to market and they’re also putting a new badge on it.
According to German car magazine Auto Bold, the Budd-e concept, revealed at CES 2016, is headed for the production in 2016 and will be called the e-Bulli.
VW Vortex also reports that Volkswagen will be introducing a slate of all-electric and hybrid vehicles starting from 2019. This is partly to clean up their image as the post-diesel-scandal Volkswagen, their also looking to take the fight to the success in EVs like Tesla has done.
While we know that the Budd-e concept made a striking impression with its design and technology, a substantial range of 553km, boasting a power output of 300 HP (225kW) as well as winning awards such as the Best Innovative Winner at Best of CES Awards and Interior Design of the Year at Automotive Interiors Expo 2016, we don’t know how much of the actual Budd-e concept will make it to the production e-Bulli.
