DIY Tutorial: Replacing the O2 Sensor on your VW – Part 3
This part of the DIY series about how to replace the O2 sensor on your Volkswagen involves the preparation of the new O2 sensor and how to install it into your VW.
Using the spark plug thread chaser, you will need to then clean up the O2 sensor bung.
This step involves applying anti-seize to the new O2 sensor, but if your one already has on it, then skip this step.
Now you have to insert and thread the new O2 sensor into the exhaust by hand, making sure that it is quite snug. You can use the box wrench or O2 sensor wrench to help you fit it correctly.
Now that you have successfully installed the new O2 sensor into your exhaust, you will now have to complete the project by doing the wiring which will be shown in the 4th and final part of this DIY tutorial.
