Hartmann has showed to what an extent creativity, comfort and performance can be teamed up and how can a commercial van be turned into a passenger vehicle without keeping any scope for it to look odd. The one project that Hartmann has proudly accomplished and is appreciated hugely for its success is the Volkswagen Transporter (T5) which has been given a totally new and impressive look and appeal. There is nothing to point as outlandish and ridiculous in the T5 as Hartmann has done its job with such finesse.
Speaking about the performance enhancement of the engines of the T5, the ECU kits have shown a tremendous result by lifting the 2.0-liter TDI from 138hp (140PS) and 340Nm (251 lb-ft) to 164hp (166PS) and 395Nm (291 lb-ft) respectively. It also lifted the 2.0-liter BiTDI from 177hp (179PS) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) to 209hp (212PS) and 460Nm (339 lb-ft) respectively.
The skill showed by Hartman with the ‘VANSPORTS’ tuning program is excellent. Some of the notable enhancements and cool features added by it to the T5 are a sports exhaust which helps in releasing a more purposeful sound and small performance gains, a reduction in the ride height by 35 mm and 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels in 275/35 R20 tires etc. moreover, there are styling add-ons as well comprising of rocker panels, rear skirt and chrome trims and a front apron and so on.
