It is time for another reader’s ride. This time we are featuring VW Golf Mk1. The owner of this car has reported that nothing has been done on the performance. The car still has the standard 1.4 fuel injection with performance air filter. It features 17” Lenzo drift wheels, audio bank 7” front unit, 1000w comp series pioneer sub, and 1000w audio bank amp. However, he has decided to put a 1.8 20v with throttle bodies and lower the car soon.
Let us revise what all comes in the new VW Golf Mk1. It features a 4-cylinder-inline engine (four-stroke) with 1423 cc displacement. Its gearbox is tuned in for a 5-speed-manual front wheel drive. Comfortable seating is guaranteed in its steel monocoque body.
Oh! Not to forget the speed, the original version features a top speed of 176 km/h (109 mph). This car consumes 7.4 litres per 100 kilometres.
Thanks Jody van der Linde for sharing the pics of the car.
