Out with the VW Passat… In with the Volkswagen CC Wagon?
The latest rumors circling the auto world is that due to the poor sales in Europe of the Volkswagen Passat, VW is thinking about doing away with it altogether. This would leave the car giant with just one wagon to its name – the VW SportWagon. However, there is now talk of a new wagon – the variant of the Volkswagen CC.
This exclusive car is powered by a V-6 engine and is thought that this would encourage more people to buy a wagon. However, some consideration also has to be given to the price. Using a 4 cylinder engine would put the new CC Wagon on par with the Acura and Audi wagons. Encompassing Volkswagen’s famous 4MOTION al wheel drive, a wagon version like this is certainly expected to do better in Europe, although it is not clear if a CC Wagon will be conceptualized for the American market.
Volkswagen is meeting in September to discuss the possibilities of a new VW Wagon and to vote on the new vehicle.
