Replacing the Springs and Adjusting Suspension on your VW – Part 1
If you want to change the suspension on your 2006/2007 model Golf or Jetta VW then stay tuned. The suspension includes the struts, springs, and of course the shocks. Here is the step by step procedure that you should follow:
The first thing you should do is remove the center caps for the front wheels, and then loosen the axel bolt with a 27 mm socket. You should loosen the lug nuts slightly and jack up the car so that you can take off the wheels.
The next step is to locate the sway bar endlink (an 18mm nut) which is attached to the strut and then move it out of the way of everything.
You will have to check if your car is HID equipped and if it is, undo the connector to the leveler arm using a 10mm socket. Use a small pair of pliers to hold the back part in place while you undo it.
