Originally produced by Karmann at Osnabruk for VW Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is the cabriolet adaptation of the Volkswagen Golf hatchback. The latest Cabriolet made its debut in March at the Geneva auto show. The last soft top Golf entitled Cabrio went away in 2002 and now after 9 years the fourth gen new Golf Cabriolet makes a super stunning comeback.
Retaining the same curvy lines as that of the Volkswagen Golf hardtop, the new 2012 Golf Cabriolet features a soft retractable top that opens up just in 9 seconds and speeds up to 30 km/hr. In addition the Golf Cabriolet will feature two small roll bars under the back headrests. A new air flow system will be employed to trim down the air hurly-burly for rear passengers. The Golf Cabriolet will retain the engine range of the current Golf 6 with the petrol 1.2-litre TSI with 105 hp, the 1.4 TSI-litre with 122 hp and the 2.0 TSI with 211 hp. For the diesel engines it would be the 1.6-litre TDI with 105 hp and the 2.0 TDI with 140 hp. All engines will be manned with the DSG gearbox with either six or seven speeds, and the BlueMotion could also be included.
A fully auto soft top, user friendly entry functions for the front seats, air conditioning, electric windows and the classy Matt Chrome as interior accents add classiness to the cabriolet. The sizzling hot red colour revealed in the photo gallery gives all the oomph factor to the new Golf Cabriolet. Just check out the pics and I am sure you’ll be tempted to drive one. The sales would start this summer in Germany with a price tag of 23.625 Euros for its starting model.
