Yet again a Vdub graces the covers of South Africa’s leading performance magazine, Speed & Sound.
Their technical guru Chad aka Spyke was in charge of this issue and here’s what he had to say:
While we all know I’m drifting crazy, some of you will be pleased to know that this installment of your favorite tuner magazine is not filled with only sideways cars. I’ve kept it real, Louis Gossett Jr said I must. You can look forward to some great drag racing action in an exciting new format – both on the track and in the glossy pages of this issue. This includes action from Sport Compact as well as Round 2 of the Nationals Championship. There’s more event action from the Twincam Dyno day and the Japan Auto Show. Neeresh also visited the KDSA Sound off in Stanger.
Feature wise we look at the R-Tech Golf from Cape Town and a Honda Jazz with a difference. We have two sound cars, both owned by ladies that shows us that it’s not all testosterone in the lanes of SA. Old School rules with a turbo charged Mk1 Ford Cortina in show-winning condition and our cover car rolls in style – a Candylicious VW Caddy with all the right bits that make for a great all rounder.Tech wise we look at the finer details of building a budget install and hit the gas when we fitted Nitrous to an E39 BMW M5. For the knowledge hungry you can feed your brain with our list of the Top Ten Force-fed engines according to us.
This is an issue with a difference; I’ve tried to make it a little different to what you’re used to – but in a good way. It’s still the same Speed and Sound you know but just with a fresh twist. I hope you enjoy reading this issue as much as we enjoyed writing it.
