With a 9% increase in May, things are looking positive for Volkswagen Canada, based in Ontario, who have reported increases in vehicle sales for 5 months in a row compared to the same periods in 2009. VW saw 4587 units being sold in May and leading these sales was the new Golf model and the new Golf GTI, up by 114% and 69.6% respectively.
The other most popular Volkswagen cars that contributed to the increased sales in Canada were the VW Jetta Sedan, the Tiguan, the Passat, and the Touareg. The overall industry sales worldwide have increased by 0.2% from last year, and VW credits their good increase percentage to the unique “Autobahn for all” marketing campaign which was started in January of this year. It will continue through June as well. The TDI Clean Diesel sales represented 26% of the Volkswagen deliveries in May.
