The 2014 Beijing Motor Show recently saw the debut of the new Volkswagen Golf R 400. The VW Golf R 400 Concept has been just tested a few days back before being officially unveiled to the public during the motor show.
The model being revealed is based on the new Golf R generation. Regardless of its remarkable performance, the model is expected to remain a simple concept car. In terms of performance, the model
offers 73 kW and 51 lb-ft of torque in addition to the production version of the Golf 7 R. In fact, the model in question offers as much as a total output of 294 kW and 332 lb-ft of torque. The model comes with 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine of turbocharged gasoline with some tweaks and a modified turbocharger.
The model takes about 3.9 seconds to complete the 0 to 62 mph sprint. The top speed of the car stands at 174 mph. The vehicle uses 19-inch alloy wheels draped in 235/35 tires and weighs 3,130 lbs.
Even the interior of the Golf R 400 Concept has been updated. Things like Motorsport shell seats covered in Alcantara and carbon leather is new to the model with contrast stitching in yellow.
Though more details on the one-off model are limited as yet, the model can be expected to be seen in a future automotive event in Europe.
