Volkswagen India Awarded for Innovative Brand Advertising


In the recent Abby Awards at the 2011 Goa Festival, the biggest advertising and awards festival in India, Volkswagen Group walked away with 8 awards for their innovative brand advertising campaigns throughout 2010. This is all thanks to the two agencies who worked on the campaigns, Mediacom, and DDB Mudra.

The Head of Marketing and PR for VW India, Lutz Kothe said, “The Marketing team has worked hard to see all the campaigns through and therefore is thrilled to receive the coveted awards in the advertising field. With the help of our agency partners, we hope to continue to bring out innovations in the field of advertising.”

In the Best Use of Newspapers and Magazines category in the Media Abbys, Volkswagen received Gold for the Vento’s talking newspaper ad, and Bronze for the new VW Polo. In the Best Community Strategy, VW received Gold for the new Polo launch. The Creative Abbys saw VW receive Silver for the Vento in the Direct Response category and under Automobile Print, they took two Silvers for the New Beetle, Bronze for the TSI Technology, and Bronze for the Passat print.
