Volkswagen recalls cars with faulty gearbox in China


Once again the news of Vdub fail has caused quite a stir among the Volkswagen customers in China. The company is recalling the vehicles with a gearbox problem in China.

Quoting the statement of a General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), the Globaltimes mentioned that the current recall affects 3,863 vehicles imported by VolksWagen Group Import Co., Ltd. and FAW- Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd.

According to the report, the list if the recall vehicles include imported Scirocco 1.4TSI, Golf Variant, Cross Golf, Audi A1 1.4T and Audi A3 1.4T and 1.8T vehicles.

This recall regime has been started since April as the defects of the company’s direct shift gearbox (DSG) transmissions that caused sudden loss or gain in engine power were exposed.

Volkswagen Group Import and FAW-VolksWagen will substitute the faulty units and update concerned software applications without any charge.
