Volkswagen has released a sneak peek of its new midsize SUV currently dubbed the ‘Teramont’ in the form of a video. In the video, it is revealed that the ‘Teramont’ will produce either 238HP in entry level trim or 280HP if the first won’t suffice.
The 238 ponies will come from Volkswagen’s ubiquitous 2.0-litre TSI motor. And thanks to the size of the car, this will be the second most powerful application of the engine (after the Golf R’s 296HP).
The 280 horses, meanwhile, will be coming from the same 3.6-litre V6 from the Passat and the Touareg, which produce 258lb-ft and 266lb-ft of twist, respectively.
While the bodywork is still in disguise, the video does reveal that the SUV will be more than 5 meters long, probably to appeal to the American market as a big family SUV. It will also come with all-wheel drive, seating for seven, and a wealth of cargo space.
