VW Golf Cabriolet revealed before Geneva


VW has unconfined a set of images and a few facts for the upcoming 2012 Golf Cabriolet model before its Geneva performance.

The new Sport Cabriolet features various changes beginning from the standardized Golf framework including a new rear end styling, a writer sloped front windshield and a lower salience roof line. The succeeding Golf Cabriolet module will have a LED rear taillight similar to the one on the Golf GTI model and safety features specified as the automatically deploying roll-over bar, pull head/thorax airbags and a knee airbag for the driver. The newly formulated soft-top roof can be opened and closed at speeds up to 30 kph(18.7 mph).

VW will give regalia of engine options on the Sport Cabrio ranging in the output from 105 bhp (77 kW / 105 PS) to 207 bhp (155 kW / 210 PS). The DSG double-clutch gearbox will be offered on most powerful position variants while the 1.6 liter TDI (105 bhp) with BlueMotion engineering offers one of the superfine fuel-economy figures around – 4.4 liters/100 km (64 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions of 117 g/km.

Prices in Germany for the Volkswagen Sport Cabriolet are fixed at €23,625.
