2010 has been a landmark year for VW Shanghai with over 1 million Volkswagens being sold in total which they attribute to a successful marketing campaign. Starting out with only 1700 Vdubs being sold 26 years ago, the rapid growth to selling and outputting over 1 million cars is remarkable. Their proactive marketing methods and increased consumer satisfaction in VW cars is what made milestone possible to reach.
Six major VW models along with the Skoda brand have been promoted over 2010, all being leaders in their various classes. The Touran, Polo, Tiguan, Santana Vista, Lavida, Octavia, and Superb have all seen record sales over the last 12 months with most of the models also being names as National Energy Saving products in 2010.
The Volkswagen and Skoda brands also won the 2010 China Auto Service Golden Wrench Award for outstanding after sales service.
